REQUIREMENTS

Benefits of Beta Alpha Psi

 

Beta Alpha Psi (BAP), is the National Honorary Organization for financial information professionals. Membership in MSU's chapter (Theta Pi Chapter) is open to accounting, finance, and computer information system majors if they meet the eligibility requirements listed below. Benefits of Beta Alpha Psi Membership:

 

  • Networking with fellow students.Networking with faculty members

 

  • Networking with professionals, some of whom are involved in the recruiting process.

 

  • Opportunity to have your resume listed on a national database.

 

  • Opportunity to have your resume listed on a regional database maintained by our chapter.

 

  • Professional speakers, field trips, other professional activities. Interesting service and social activity opportunities.

 

 

Students shall be eligible to pledge after they have:

 

  • Declared (or stated an intention to declare) a concentration in accounting, finance, or information systems.

  • Completed 45 credit hours of collegiate courses and

  • Attained a cumulative GPA at MSU of 3.25 or better.

 

Undergraduate students shall be eligible for membership after they have:

 

  • Been accepted as an accounting, finance, or information systems degree candidate.

  • Completed, in addition to 60 hours of collegiate courses, at least one upper level course within their major beyond the business core.

  • Attained a cumulative GPA in upper level courses in their declared major of 3.0 or better.

  • Cumulative MSU GPA in all subjects completed of at least 3.25.

  • Adequately completed a pledge program.

 

Graduate students shall be eligible for membership after they have:

 

  • Declared a concentration in accounting, finance, or information systems.

  • Completed at least one semester of graduate business study.

  • Attained a cumulative GPA in graduate courses in their concentration and overall of 3.5 or better.

  • Adequately completed a pledge program.

 

Students shall be eligible for associate membership after they have:

 

  • Declare a concentration in accounting, finance, or information systems.

  • Additional requirements to be announced
